Brother was the #1 laser printer company in Western Europe in final quarter of 2022

According to International Data Corporation’s (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Hardcopy Peripherals Tracker, Brother outranked nearest competitor HP by nearly 2 percentage points to lead overall laser shipments in the final quarter of 2022 – selling just over 395,000 A4 units across Western Europe, up 13% (13.9%) on the previous quarter. When looking at A4 laser sales alone this lead rises to 3 percentage points, with Brother taking 35% of the market, with unit shipments 9.5% greater than HP*. In Nordics region (including Iceland) Brother currently holds a market share of 33.5% of the total laser market.

Since 2018 Brother have continually increased their A4 laser market share across Western Europe, and accounted for 30.7% of all shipments in 2022, up 6 percentage points in the past 5 years*, thus achieving the biggest market share increase of any other company. This increase is a result of Brothers wide range of hardware, services, and their ability to work in partnership with businesses to tailor solutions to suit.

Christopher Marshall, Executive Director at Brother International Europe said; “These numbers not only show the strength of the current business laser market, but also the confidence in what Brother can offer in this space. Every year we are closing the gap and supplying more machines to businesses across Western Europe, and I firmly believe that is due to the quality of our offering and our ability to work in partnership with our customers to support their evolving needs.”

Brother’s range of A4 laser machines are well placed in the current market, supporting businesses with hybrid working and navigating a print infrastructure that supports a distributed workforce working across multiple sites.

Chris added; “supporting businesses through periods of change is incredibly important for us at Brother, and we constantly strive to offer solutions that support our customers through challenges they may be facing. And with the current climate and the evolution of work, businesses are craving simpler, smarter, more flexible solutions that will adapt to their changing needs, and we are in a perfect position to offer that”.

Brother’s A4 laser portfolio is due to expand even further this year with a range of compact professional colour printers that offer the flexibility to meet the needs of today’s businesses as well as a further two ranges designed to meet the needs of home office users.
