Brother products awarded three “iF Design” prizes

Brother performed strongly again at the international iF Design Awards. From among the more than 6,300 entries, a Brother LED printer and two P-touch label printers were selected to receive one of the year’s coveted iF prizes.

The international iF Design Award is one of the highest accolades you can be awarded when launching new products in the IT and office fields, and others.

Every year, hardware manufacturers from around the world line up to have their products approved by the demanding international jury consisting of experts in design, construction, marketing and ease of use.

An attractive appearance is just one of many criteria that must be met in order to be considered for an iF Design Award – and perhaps eventually for a gold or silver medal. Other assessment points include user interface, safety, innovation, performance and eco-friendliness.

This year the iF Design Awards received 6,375 products from 52 countries for assessment. Three products from Brother passed all the tests with flying colours and were awarded an iF Design prize.

These were the HL-L3270CDW LED printer and two label printers, the P-touch-CUBE-Plus and the PT-H110.

Brother has a veritable collection of iF Design Awards. Over the years, Brother has received 72 of the coveted awards – including the six from this year*.

Brother received its very first iF Design Award back in 1982. At that time the jury panel was very excited about an alphanumeric typewriter from Brother.

“Good design is becoming increasingly important at a time when many products are basically the same. iF Design rewards innovation, quality, reliability, ease of use and environmental aspects. These are all watchwords for Brother,” explains Henning Elkjær, Nordic Marketing Director & Sales Director (Denmark) for Brother Nordic A/S.

Henning adds that it is particularly pleasing to win iF Design Awards here in the Nordic region, where good design is part of the culture.

Brother’s LED colour printers have become something of a bestseller among discerning offices throughout Europe.

In that context, the iF Awards selected Brother’s HL-L3270CDW LED colour printer.

Recently the same printer also received a Buyers Lab International Winter Pick Award after it had undergone week-long tests under heavy loads – without any loss in either quality or durability along the way.

Virtually all Brother products have received the Nordic Swan eco label for their low power consumption and eco-friendly operation on a day-to-day basis.

Two other iF Design Awards went to Brother’s reliable PT-H110 label printer and the elegant P-touch-CUBE-Plus.

The iF Design Awards are handed out by International Forum Design, which has its head office in Hanover, Germany.

*The three other iF Design Awards went to one of Brother’s sewing machines, a sewing, embroidery and quilting machine and a cutting machine.
