Here comes Brother’s CUBE Plus label printer for professionals

Brother’s small and elegant P-touch CUBE label printer has become a big hit in the Danish homes, where it prints colourful labels with photos or emojis on various new types of tape. The office people now gets a CUBE Plus model, tailormade for their requirements. It can print faster and on wider tapes. Brother P-touch CUBE Plus costs DKK 999 incl. VAT.

It doesn’t look like a label printer, when it sits on the desk, on the counter or on a shelf in the office. The small and elegant ”gadget” is actually quite decorative and its minimalistic, almost Nordic design comes across as modern.

Brother P-touch CUBE Plus is the professionals’ – the office people’s – answer to the “regular” CUBE. It has become very popular among Danish families and creative souls that make an effort to design different and personal labels.

The new P-touch CUBE Plus is powered via Bluetooth and battery, which makes it easy to move around to where it is needed to create new labels, fast. The significant difference between the two is that CUBE Plus can print om labels that are twice as wide (24 mm) – and that multiple users can share the same label printer.

CUBE Plus is just as flexible as it is smart. You can design and print labels from your smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop. It works on Apple as well as Android units and on both Windows and Mac computers.

Design on all platforms

Labels in a professional quality can be created by using Brother’s free P-touch Editor software, that works on pc and Mac. The connection between the CUBE Plus label printer and the computer is obtained by using an USB cable or via Bluetooth.

If you work with labels on your smartphone and/or tablet Brother has two applications – free of charge – called iPrint&Label and Design&Print. Both are 100 % compatible with the P-touch CUBE Plus and can be downloaded for Android and Apple iOS. Communications will be wireless via Bluetooth.

In any case the user is able to create his own attractive labels with various fonts, logos, images, clipart, bar codes and frames. Every element can be freely moved and changed in size.

Brother has also developed an label add-in for Microsoft Office in Windows. Via this add-in you can print labels directly from Word, Excel or Outlook.

In case you need to print a lot of labels, you can make a batch print imported from an Excel (Windows) or .csv file (Mac), via the function Database in the P-touch Editor program.

Flexibility is king

Whereas the small CUBE for private homes runs on regular Alkaline batteries, the large CUBE Plus has a built-in rechargeable Li-ion battery – just like a smartphone. The battery can be recharged from a regular power socket via a USB charger or a USB cable from a computer.

Brother can supply a large range of durable TZe-tapes, that are compatible with the small P-touch CUBE Plus. TZe-labels are printed with Thermal Transfer technology and with a print speed of up to 20 mm per second.

Solution is 180 dpi as a standard. When you are in need of a higher solution the CUBE Plus can print in 180 x 360 dpi.

CUBE Plus can work with labels in widths up to 24 mm, and you can choose between TZe-tapes in 3.5, 5, 6, 9, 12, 18 or 24 mm widths. A label can have a maximum length of 50 cm, when using pc or Mac. When designing via an App on a smartphone or a tablet labels can have a maximum length of 30 cm. CUBE Plus has a built-in automatic cutter that cuts your labels in the desired length.

Brother’s new P-touch CUBE Plus label printer is delivered with a built-in Li-ion battery, USB cable and a TZe-tape – black on white (4 meters).
