Brother launches new generation of mobile scanners 22 jan. 2014 09 nóv. 2016 The three new Brother scanners, the DS-620, DS-720D and DS-820W, are so slim and small that they can easily be carried in a bag or placed in the car's glove compartment or in a desk drawer. The scanners are powered via the USB cable, and one of them can also run on battery power. They are available with wireless network and operated with just a single button. Prices are very competitive and start at 1,000 kroner incl. VAT. Since Brother launched its first portable scanners eighteen months ago, sales have been booming. So strongly, that Brother is now ready with the second generation of mobile scanners. They offer a range of new and smart features making them equally suitable for professional purposes to e.g. sales reps, consultants and other people on the move ‒ and for family use at home. The second generation of Brother's mobile scanners includes three models, which are all very simple to operate and have a compact size, low weight, high quality and a competitive price. One or two-sided scanning Brother DS-620 is the smallest and most inexpensive member of the new mobile scanner family. It works in up resolutions to 600 x 600 dots per inch (dpi). The DS-620 weighs a modest 400 grams and has a scanning speed of up to 7.5 pages per minute. This is equivalent to an A4 page scanned in approx. eight seconds. The Brother DS-720D has an extra "D" which indicates that the product allows scanning of both sides of a document at the same time. The DS-720D weighs 500 grams and has a scanning speed of up to 5 pages per minute. Wireless top model with PC-free scanning Brother DS-820W is the new flagship of mobile scanners. It is an advanced model with wireless network, which makes it possible to e.g. scan documents without having a computer involved in the process. In fact, the DS-820W is equipped with its own SD memory card of 4GB. In practice, you scan document to the SD card, and then you can transfer it wirelessly to a PC, smartphone, tablet or various cloud services on the Internet. As its siblings, Brother DS-820W comes in an elegant white colour. It weighs 440 grams and has a scanning speed of up to 7.5 pages per minute. Complete software package The new mobile scanners from Brother have such a slim and compact design that they can easily be put in a bag, or be placed in the car's glove compartment or in a desk drawer. All three models are powered by USB cable ‒ the DS-820W runs on battery, too ‒ and the all work seamlessly with both Windows PCs and Apple Mac. The three models offer One Touch scanning and convenient features like scan to e-mail, scan to PDF or scan to editable Word and Excel documents. A complete software package with Nuance™ PaperPort™ 12SE for document handling and NewSoft® Presto® Bizcard is included in the price.
