Brother and Microsoft collaborate to deliver OneNote innovation

Brother and Microsoft have partnered on a new integration – instant scanning straight to the Cloud-based note taking platform OneNote.

Brother customers can now use single function scanners as well as inkjet and laser all-in-ones to send their scanned content directly to Microsoft’s OneNote.

For Brother customers, that means printed documents, signed contracts, receipts, invoices and hard copy photographs can all be easily scanned and sent straight to OneNote using their device’s control panel.

This integration has optimised the use of Cloud services for Brother customers. OneNote enables users to capture and collate online sources and websites of interest and make their own comments or annotations against the detail they have gathered.

Brother customers’ scans can now be a part of the OneNote ‘thought stream’ and stored in the Cloud, which means the detail can be accessed from any location.

Greg Akselrod, Program Manager for OneNote, commented: “For Brother customers around the world, getting their documents into OneNote is simple, easy and fast. All of your files, all of your scans are exactly where you need them, in OneNote, without having to copy and paste.”

The facility to scan to OneNote instantly from Brother products is delivered through its award-winning Web Connect function. Providing seamless integration with Cloud services, Web Connect was singled out for praise earlier this year securing the Outstanding Achievement in Innovation accolade in the Buyers Lab Pick Awards.

Henning ELkjær from Brother, added: “Take note of this partnership. Thanks to Brother and Microsoft, scanned content can be sent direct to OneNote. That’s swift. That’s simple. That’s straight to the point scanning.”
